Our staff comes from various backgrounds and each brings with them a vast knowledge of skills and treatment techniques, which makes this a truly unique practice/clinic.

kobus

Kobus was born and raised in South Africa and graduated from the University of Pretoria with a Bachelors degree in physiotherapy in 1996. He then started to work there at a mining hospital in 1997, which included a lot of orthopaedic work. Hand rehabilitation was also a very large part of physiotherapy in the mining industry. He worked there for 4 years before he moved to Swift Current, SK, in 2001. He then joined the team at Central Avenue Physiotherapy and has been since April of 2001. He has since added acupuncture to his list of skills and enjoys the work and community of Swift Current immensely. Me He has been co-owner now of Central Avenue Physiotherapy since August 2006. He also became a Canadian citizen in May 2011 and has made Canada his new home.

cindy

Cindy was born and raised around the Yorkton area. In 1995 she convocated from the University of Saskatchewan with her bachelor of science in physical education(with Great Distinction). In 1996 she graduated (with distinction) with a bachelor of science in Physical Therapy. She worked in an orthopaedic based practice in Regina and Yorkton before moving to Swift Current in 2001. She has been co-owner of Central Avenue Physiotherapy since 2006. She has extensive experience in manual therapy, acupuncture and dry needling.

rae

Rae was born and raised in a small community in Southeast Sask. In 1991 she convocated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. For the next six years she was employed at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current. After moving to Alberta, she spent four years in private practice and two in the hospital setting. In 2004 she joined the team at Central Avenue Physiotherapy. She is certified in acupuncture and has completed the orthopaedic levels of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, receiving her Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy. This fulfills the requirements for Fellowship in the Canadian Association of Manipulative Therapists(FCAMT). She has also mentored other physiotherapists working through their orthopaedic levels. Volunteer time is spent as the trainer for the AAA Diamond Energy Wildcats.

jodi

Jodi was born in Regina, SK and grew up in Yorkton, SK. In 2001,she convocated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology. She spent the next two years traveling and working before returning to university. She then went on to convocate from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (with Distinction) in the spring of 2006 and joined the team at Central Avenue Physiotherapy that June. Since then, Jodi has gone on to receive her acupuncture certification with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and is currently working toward her Advanced Diploma in orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. Her interests include cervical spine dysfunction, neurological populations and sports injuries.

Laurel

Laurel was born and raised on a farm near Rosetown. In 2007, she convocated with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan School of Physical Therapy and was named the top orthopaedic graduate in her class. Laurel has worked in orthopaedic, sports based, as well as hospital settings. She co-authored clinical practise guidelines for the treatment of plantar fasciitis which received national honours and were presented at the World Congress of Physical Therapy. She has continued her education by receiving her acupuncture certification and is currently working toward her Advanced Diploma in Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy.

patti

Patti is born and raised on a farm near Morse, SK. In 2005 she convocated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Upon completion of her degree she received her PFLC and is now recognized as a Certified Exercise Physiologist(CEP) through the national CSEP organization. Patti has been part of the team at Central Avenue Physiotherapy as an Exercise Therapist since 2005, focusing mainly on rehabilitative exercise programming as well as fitness and lifestyle consulting.

trent

Trent was born in Prince Albert, SK. and was raised on a farm near Kinistino, SK. He convocated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2006, with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Trent is also accredited with being a Certified Exercise Physiologist. He has worked as a personal trainer and also spent time at a natural health center. Trent has a personal interest in bodybuilding, power lifting, and performance nutrition. He has worked at Central Avenue Physiotherapy since the beginning of 2011.

Stephanie

Jessica grew up on a farm near Abbey, SK. She attended Medicine Hat College in 2007 to obtain certification as a Registered Massage Therapist (NHPC), and went on to the University of Lethbridge to complete her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, as well as her Exercise Physiologist Certification (CSEP). Upon convocation in 2012, she began work as a Rehab Specialist with Alberta Health Services in Edmonton. Jessica and her fiancée made the move back to their Saskatchewan roots in July 2013, where Jessica joined the Central Avenue Physiotherapy team as an Exercise Therapist. Jessica's experiences working with both healthy and clinical populations have given her a well-rounded approach to therapeutic exercise. She is so proud to call herself a 'Saskie' once again, and has been welcomed with open-arms by the Central Ave Physio team!

Our receptionists create a warm, friendly and caring environment for our clients when they walk through the clinic doors, helping  the clients feel welcome.

wendy

Wendy was born and raised in Swift Current, SK. She is the Office Manager and Administrator at Central Avenue Physiotherapy. She is a veteran in the administration department and the management of accounts and billing. Wendy was and remains a key cornerstone in the creation and continuation of Central Avenue Physiotherapy over the past fifteen years.

Vicky

Vicky was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She moved to Swift Current to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. She could not be happier with her choice. Since her move she has found a job she loves, great new friends and has become an active member of the Swift Current Little Theatre. She has been working at Central Avenue Physiotherapy in Administration since January 2009. She is very excited to be a part of the Central Avenue Physiotherapy team!
